An Electrical & Avionics Engineering Team Leader covering all aspect of the aviation maintenance and deep strip rectification works, utilising specific data capture software, which provides significant lifing information and resource availability to allow me to plan all activities. Within this role I work autonomously, providing legal certification of all engineering activities carried out and relied upon to provide a 24/7 call out/remote response as required by the senior management. This covered an array of systems, namely Flight Systems, Radar and Optical Systems to component level for A400M aircraft. Consistently delivering against all KPI needs and meeting all targets to sustain a continued business function while keeping myself and my team’s continued professional development at acceptable levels to carry out required maintenance tasks. It has been essential for me to have oversight for other trades working in and around the aircraft; having knowledge of Mechanical and Weapons systems to enhance a unique working relationship in an aviation and airworthiness environment. I have given legal certification to varying maintenance tasks, scoping aircraft zones for independent checks and ensured all provisions for resource availability, tool control, PPE, COSHH and H&S for any task I undertake or lead.I impart current engineering and technical knowledge to all junior and in-experienced staff members; acting as coach, mentor and On-the Job Instructor to ensure personal and professional development. My skills and expertise are used to great advantage when fault diagnosis is required on in-depth systems, with all work being independently checked and signed off to the highest of standards. Show less Within this role, working on Tornado aircraft, I adopted a methodical approach to ensure the configuration asset management of assets worth in excess of £28M remained serviceable. Conducting all elements of scheduled, preventative and corrective maintenance on varying degrees of complex in-depth systems, acting as maintenance producer working under supervision to ensure quality and completeness of all engineering works.Regularly responsible for updating associated engineering documentation and data capturing software (LITS), communicating life cycles and scheduled maintenance data to allow for senior management to make informed decisions and prioritise against perceived shortfalls in business continuity; thus guaranteeing a speedy resolution to unserviceable asset issues and maintaining a tracking system for strategic technical planners to forecast and procure necessary replacement assets as required against the business needs of the organisation.Within this period I took part in various projects to effectively reduce waste with the added benefit of managing and developing a close working relationship with industry leaders to affect change; reduce costs and make significant realisation during the mitigation of risk factors for a continued business function. Show less As an engineering trainee, I am responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of a fleet of fixed wing aircraft and the associated inspection of vital components. Improving my own capability in fault diagnosis, rectification, preventative and scheduled maintenance often involving Test Equipment and Specialised Test Sets, along with an ability to manage complex and diverse programmes for single or multiple stakeholders, addressing procedure compliance and providing leadership to internal and external clients. This has led to me building in-depth knowledge of operation and testing of Communications, Navigational, RF, LASER, FLIR and Electronic Counter Measure Systems for multiple aircraft and aviation assets. This period of training, not only enhanced my theoretical understanding, but also practically. I was taught how to analys Risk/COSHH Assessments to fulfill all duties in accordance with all relevant policies and legislations. Ensuring my adherence to all laid out standards and awareness to Human Factors engineering reporting within a continuous improvement and ISO governed organisation. Not only involved in engineering matters, but I am adept at developing and maintaining internal audit and inspection regimes, analysing business needs and continuity strategies whilst remaining aware of emerging platforms and talents within a continuous improvement culture. This has been an excellent period of training furthering my career within avionics and electronics. Show less This role involved fully supporting all aircraft engineering trades. I would carry out all aspects of fault diagnosis and fault rectification, coupled with in-depth preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing of complex systems, sub systems, aircraft and specialist tools. Maintaining operational effectiveness and airworthiness of an aircraft fleet or high value assets within a 1st line maintenance environment. Capable of deciphering technical drawings together with following computerised and written procedures to maintain aircraft supporting components.Often required to work extended hours to accommodate the full rectification of aircraft and their components parts while adhering to operating procedures, H&S legislation and risk assessments to conduct maintenance activities.
