      Pharmacy Technician

During my time at Walgreens, I was responsible for many things. When I first worked at Walgreens, I was just a sales clerk. My job consisted of helping customers find things in the store and then checking them out at the cash register. I also was responsible for general cleanliness of my immediate area as well as unloading the truck and putting out any items that went in my area. After some time, I was promoted to Certified photo specialist. I was in charge of the photo area. It was my job (along with my sales clerk responsibilities) to assist customers with printing their pictures. I also was responsible for the cleaning of the photo machines. That included, changing of the ink, changing the photo paper size (depending on what the customers requested), fixing paper jams, processing film rolls (when we processed them), and other cleaning requirements for the machines. Around July of 2012, I was promoted to pharmacy Technician. As a pharmacy tech, I was responsible for taking in prescriptions, typing them into the computer, filling the correct prescription with the proper medication, and then selling the prescription back to the customer. I also at times was required to call insurance companies for customers as well as doctor's offices. Show less
