  During my internship with the Centre for Policy Futures, I had the exciting opportunity to work on the project 'Preconditions for the Development of Offshore Wind Energy in Australia', part of the Blue Economy CRC.Our team was responsible for investigating the marine spatial planning, leasing and permitting frameworks employed by leading producers of offshore wind energy in order to identify best practices for possible implementation in Australia.I delivered a report detailing the policy & regulatory frameworks that guide the United Kingdom’s offshore wind industry. This research required me to synthesise information from policy documents, government publications, industry reports and academic literature in order to:- Concisely explain the UK’s regulatory structures governing offshore wind- Evaluate the effectiveness of their frameworks and how they could map onto the Australian context- Provide recommendations to those leading the creation of Australia’s offshore wind industry Show less
