      Laurie Loveland Scholarship NDSU Women and Gender Studies Program Apr 2009 Laurie Loveland (BA, NDSU, 1980) was a lawyer instrumental in drafting and negotiating the Master Settlement Agreement between the nation’s tobacco companies and 46 states, five US territories and the District of Columbia. She also served as Assistant Attorney General and Solicitor General for the State of North Dakota and as a Supreme Court Fellow. She influenced co-workers, friends and family to make the world a better place. One of a truckdriver's seven children, Laurie was an academic star at Minot High School, NDSU and Yale Law School, but she remembered and honored her modest beginnings. This $5000 scholarship proposes to provide funding for North Dakota women who want to make a difference in the world as she did. Show less
