  The Symbian Foundation was established to make the Symbian platform available open source and royalty-free - this became known as the largest transition from proprietary code to open source in software history. As a Technology Specialist I worked with Technology Managers, platform adopters and the wider development community to shape the evolution of the platform technology, with focus on UI and Apps packages (e.g. Qt integration and Phonegap).

  I helped TomTom Sports grow, assisted in the day-to-day operations (managing the product backlog, release planning, engineering practices and the SDLC). I was also module owner for UI and Apps and Line Manager of a small development team. Working with a small team of hardware and software engineers, we built the first and second generation of our TomTom-branded GPS watches (award winning).We worked primarily with C, C++ and Python on embedded, desktop and mobile, and used Scrum and XP practices. I joined TomTom Sports at the time of its inception. I supported the newly launched Nike+ sportswatch GPS. I was responsible for integrating and performance testing our GPS algorithm.
