      Brighton Dome is a 200+ year old former royal stables, now home to a 1,800 capacity concert hall and two further auditoria. Brighton Festival is England's largest mixed arts festival, held annually in May since 1964. On a typical shift, I take overall responsiblity for the operation of one of the three in-house venues, or for an external venue or outdoor event during Brighton Festival. I lead the stewarding, security and VSA teams and oversee the bars, technical & box office teams to ensure the event runs as planned, with excellent standards of safety, security and customer service. Stock control at End Up bar, attempting to keep the beer flowing. Mainly in fancy-dress.

      Luminarium Manager

      Architects of Air build and tour ‘luminaria’- inflatable sculptures which visitors enter to experience the beauty of light and colour. Each luminarium is the size of around half a football pitch and can accommodate up to 80 people at one time. As a Luminarium Manager I ensure the safe and proper management of the structure and fulfil the ambassadorial role of presenting it as a work of art. The job involves training and overseeing a build/break crew and stewarding team, undertaking repairs, coordinating installation contractors, inflating and deflating the structure each day, monitoring environmental conditions (such as wind speeds and temperatures) and conducting media interviews including print, radio and TV (sometimes live!). During my years with AoA I've been lucky enough to work in locations including the USA, Australia and the Middle East. Show less

The job involves coordinating the itinerary in advance and accompanying the group on tour, for the chief purposes of managing the logistics and providing an engaging educational experience. Each tour is a unique journey and an exciting challenge!
