    • Leader Universal Holdings Berhad

      Jul 2005 - Jun 2012
      Chief Operating Officer (Power Generation)

Successfully developed privatised diesel engine power plant during a difficult Cambodian era, and later successfully negotiated the agreements for the coal-fired power plant, and, substation and transmission project in Cambodia.

    • LEADER GROUP Malaysia

      Jul 2012 - Jul 2015
      Managing Director (Power Generation Division)

Responsible for the development and profitable operations of the LEADER GROUP's power generation and transmission assets in Cambodia: 35MW BOT heavy fuel oil diesel engine power plant, 100MW BOO coal-fired circulating fluidized bed power plant and 230kV BOT 100km transmission system and two substations.Getting a Chinese EPCC power plant completed to international IPP standards and expectations and in Cambodia at that requires a cat's nine lives and strains every cell in the brain each waking hour, but no one can take that experience away, and probably stuff for a new book not yet available in the market. For a start, a paper will be appropriate for Powergen Asia, but will first wait for an exotic location before embarking on this.Taking Over of the CFB plant was on 15 November 2013 but on the EPCC's terms where "You agree to my terms or else I will not Hand Over to you, and we will see how long you can afford to wait with the PPA deadline looming." That took away the eighth life. COD for this power plant was achieved on 2 December 2013. Responsible for the growth of the Division for the LEADER GROUP. Moving on to dual/triple roles: (1) Periodic technical and financial audits of the LEADER companies in Cambodia; (2) Develop the "nearly there" projects in Laos and Vietnam; and (3) Business Development. And sometimes the boss says to revisit Cambodia, to look into the ongoing misdeeds of that nemesis. I had thought that I would be able to keep this ninth life to myself, but it is not to be - the contractual guarantee period is just fiction in the vocabulary of the EPCC. Show less
