Supervised 1-3 clinicians providing mental health services in the school based health centers. Wrote and administered grants that helped cover costs of providing services.

  Managed day-to-day operations of 4-6 therapist private practice. Provided outpatient therapy services with children and families in Yancey and Mitchell Counties. Worked closely with referring providers (DSS, DJJDP, schools, primary care, psychiatric hospitals) to provide coordination of care through engagement with treatment teams, court system, school system and other community agencies.

  I developed and manage the behavioral health services program in this small, rural Federally Qualified Health Center. I provide integrated behavioral health services in the flow of regular medical visits, co-facilitate group medical visits for patients with chronic pain issues and Diabetes, oversee psychiatric consultations, supervise interns, provide ongoing training of medical and nursing staff regarding behavioral health treatment.

  Shepherded organization through merger with Bakersville Community Health Center to form Mountain Community Health Partnership. Raised capital and managed physical plant and infrastructure upgrades to prepare site to become part of a Federally Qualified Health Center. Managed transition to new Electronic Health Record.

  Currently I am working on fundraising efforts to expand our physical footprint in Mitchell and Yancey Counties. Our next steps are to open a medical clinic in Burnsville and dental clinic in Bakersville. We continue to expand the work we are doing with MAHEC to bring more medical learners to our Rural Teaching Clinics. We continue to expand our efforts to move beyond the walls of our clinics to help address substance use, community health and care management needs of our communities.
