  Accreditation manager

  My responsibility was to manage over 100 volunteers with the high security position of creating and issuing the Accreditation passes to allow access to areas that were secured by the MoD. After working at Glasgow 2014 Ltd for 2 weeks I was trusted to manage 3 venues independently with volunteers assigned to each venue. Being responsible for Accreditation of the rugby 7s, which hosted 45,000 spectators per day, meant liaising with 10 other departments. Dealing with high profile individuals and adapting to changes in procedures on a daily basis was challenging and rewarding. I had to adopt a professional and assertive approach in order to be successful in this position. Show less

  I joined Howden as part of the Graduate Training Scheme for Mechanical Engineers. I have gained experience in various departments and disciplines, such as:- Fan and Compressor assembly and test in Howden's Renfrew Factory- Global Program Office- Howden Technology Research and Development- Screw Compressor Production - Global Communications- Site Service (Lynemouth Power Ltd)- HUK Project Management- HUK Strategic Projects- HUK Contracts EngineeringThe scheme has given me a variety of experience in a global environment. I have commercial experience of communications and experience of transferring operations from one Howden location to another, working alongside Howden senior management to deliver projects.I have had technical experience using product manuals to manually select a centrifugal fan to validate the software, Howden Select. I have had hands on technical experience within the Renfrew factory but also on site, working on fans and heaters – I enjoyed this placement so much that I requested an extension. While I designed, built and managed Howden UK’s projects I gained knowledge of Howden’s products. Show less
