      Tim Bent retired as Director of Environmental Affairs for Nashville-based Bridgestone Americas, Inc. (BSAM) the largest subsidiary of the Bridgestone Global Group. He directed design, development and execution of organizational strategies for excellence in environmental compliance, performance and reputation for BSAM including its subsidiaries across North and South America, Africa and Europe. There he implemented strategies through partnering with stakeholders to effectively integrate environmental risks and opportunities and improve processes, business models, products and properties. Responsibilities included sustainable infrastructure, pollution prevention; management systems; compliance assistance; remediation; real estate; community engagement, advocacy and negotiation; product environmental aspects management; and driving environmental teamwork and tools across Bridgestone's global presence.Mr. Bent served on the Board of Directors for the Wildlife Habitat Council and EPA's National Advisory Committee, which advises the Administrator of EPA on specific U.S. government policy issues related to the implementation of the North American Agreement on Environmental Cooperation, part of NAFTA. He also served as Chairman of the Manufacturer's Alliance Environmental Council, and Chairman of the Environmental and Resource Recovery Committee for the Rubber Manufacturers Association (now US Tire Manufacturers Association) and Chairman of the Scrap Tire Management Council. Mr. Bent earned his Master of Science in Geology from Oklahoma State University, and his Dual Bachelor of Science in Geology and Conservation from Kent State University. Show less
