      Aug 2004 - Sept 2006
      Design Engineer

☛ Designed a wide range of automation machines for electronic connector industry. ☛ Set-up and initiated quality control systems to perform rigorous testing of equipment for ensuring performance, quality and safety that actively contributed to minimising the product rejection rate by circa 30%.

Key Achievements: ☛ Devised and used innovative techniques for shape matching and surface enhancement for the 3D scanning system, which resulted in minimising the processing time by 50%.☛ Designed a factory layout that served as a critical component to the client proposal as well as assisted in securing and closing a lucrative deal with a significant Australian food and beverage company.☛ Promoted a collaborative workplace by negotiating with clients to resolve project-related issues, including scope creeps, variations, and contract discrepancies. ☛ Developed and implemented feedback mechanism for clients, team members and managers. My key projects included: ☛ Led and managed a diverse range of automation projects to 95% job completion and within the budget of $100K and $15M for food and beverage, Textile, FMCG, and Automotive clients. ☛ Developed World’s first turnkey automated aluminium extrusion packaging system for a supplier of aluminium products (Capral) from conceptualisation, R&D, and production through commissioning; involved two robots handling over 3K types of extrusions integrated with an advanced laser scanner and shape recognition technology.☛ Spearheaded a project consisted of a fully automated packaging line spanning 45m x 20m area for assorted biscuits of Australia’s largest producer of biscuits (Arnott’s); comprised of 58 robots, 120 servo axes, 64 vision systems and 16 laser scanner system.☛ Worked on an R&D project incorporating the design and assembly of a wool testing rig for a group of laboratories that test agricultural, horticultural and manufactured goods (AWTA Ltd).☛ Oversaw a project consisted of a leading-edge automated packaging line for a global manufacturer of commercial flooring (Interface Carpets), including a 120kg payload robot for palletising and a vacuum stacker that can handle various products without any interchangeable parts. Show less As a Project Engineer, I worked collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team as part of a new system development cycle that involved developing concepts and using them for initial design and prototyping through R&D and final assembly. By creating and displaying new concept designs to clients during preliminary meetings, I communicated with them on how the bespoke solution would fulfil their needs and overcome challenges. I crafted models and product samples and tested them to ensure product functionality, stability, reliability and quality. By efficiently completing all the design work, including modelling, simulation, and design verification testing, I successfully met or exceeded manufacturing and cost requirements. Moreover, I assumed responsibility for system part selection, taking them into consideration obsolescence and checking availability and cost. Coordinated with Control Engineers engaged in control design for on-time project delivery. Following are the highlights of the values I’ve brought my clients: ☛ Formulated and implemented an innovative design structure and template for detail manufacturing drawings that contributed to achieving 100% traceability.☛ Independently programmed robots for various projects to under burden Control Engineers and save additional working hours in the process. My key projects included: ☛ Project managed a fully automated transformers assembly line for an Australian manufacturer of power and distribution systems (Tyree Transformers).☛ Performed multiple bench testing for the world’s first automated sewing techniques for a Norwegian furniture company (Ekornes).☛ Oversaw a project that involved additional polishing attachment for multi-sized bricks for Capral.☛ Designed various concepts for other major clients, including Woolworths, BOC, and Kimberley Clark.
