  I spent 11 weeks in Mexico learning about the health system and how it differs from the health system in the United States. During this time, we observed medicine in local clinics and hospitals for four hours each day. The focus of the program was to learn about another culture so that we can become more culturally competent physicians in the future and take better care of our patients.
