  Good Heavens - Dark Sky Experiences

  My home, Great Barrier Island, New Zealand, is a Dark Sky Sanctuary. Away from the lights of the big city and as an off-the-grid island, light pollution is minimal. Our dark sky is brimming with stars.​We started Good Heavens to take visitors to our beautiful island on a journey through this sky, highlighting special stars, constellations and deep sky objects, while enlightening them on their special features and telling their stories. We have made sure that our stargazing experiences are not only informative, but also fun, and that our stargazers are comfortable and warm.​​We get close to the stars with an 8" telescope and binoculars. Comfy seating, a hot drink and blankets when it's cold will keep everyone cozy. Stargazing is an activity that requires mindfulness, and it's eco-friendly. We touch on the negative effects of light pollution, and we aim to tread as lightly as possible. Even our laser pointers are solar charged.As a director, I am responsible for communications and bookings, marketing, social media and our website. Show less
