  - Develops calendar of events and programs for the Bayside, Queens and Manhattan facilities. Plans, coordinates and leads activities for small and large groups -- involving the participants as much as possible in planning and preparation- Organizes trips across the New York metropolitan area and arranges transportation- Establishes and maintains good working relationships with community, cultural and educational organizations and uncovers "hidden" resources for program development- Tailors activities for individual needs and therapeutic goals in collaboration with fellow clinicians (such as physical, speech and occupational therapists) and other colleagues- Ensures that people who have been under-served by existing programs are fully included in group activities, in part by devising creative, adaptive solutions to increase their access- Purchases and maintains recreation equipment- Applies art skills to recreation programs and other institutional needs - Manages and trains program staff- Has established volunteer opportunities in the community Show less
