  🔹 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞:My analytics expertise and record of going above and beyond led to my promotion as UH's first inaugural Data Scientist.Working in a director and data architect capacity, I spearheaded impactful projects with healthcare administrative and clinical leaders, including architecting and implementing full data pipelines in SQL environments. From integrating disparate data sources to developing predictive models and designing custom analytics reporting solutions, I was key in driving measurable outcomes that improved patient care across UH's population health system.🔹 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐃𝐚𝐭𝐚 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞:Upon joining the team, I encountered a key problem: UH's HEDIS star rating was stagnant at 2 stars, resulting in significant financial losses due to low capture rates.Within my first week, I audited their SQL codes and SSIS packages and discovered the root cause—incorrect ICD-10 and CPT codes. By rectifying these discrepancies and ensuring accurate data capture, we propelled the HEDIS rating to 4 stars, unlocking millions in YOY insurance payments and substantial bonus payouts.🔹 𝐀𝐝𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:🤝 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗴𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽𝘀: Collaborated with Optum, Humana, and Cigna IT partners to devise new outreach strategies and close HEDIS care gaps for improved patient outcomes and enhanced data management processes.💡 𝗔𝘂𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗥𝗖𝗔 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹: Developed and presented an automated RCA tool to HR management—𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑙𝑙 𝑖𝑛 𝑢𝑠𝑒—that analyzed serious adverse events, identified the top 10 readmission factors, and reduced cost avoidance.🏥 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗜𝗺𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁: I developed and deployed prototype algorithms and SSIS workflows to streamline data transfer processes and facilitate information exchange across external health systems. Show less 🔹 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞:When UH was looking to integrate its surgical application with the Allscripts EMR/EHR platform I developed and deployed as an IT Operations Specialist, I saw an opportunity to expand into clinical analytics and reporting.After expressing my interest to the VP, I was introduced to the Hiring Manager, who allowed me to be part of a challenging project to design and implement clinical analytics and Power BI reporting tools, including monitoring healthcare KPIs and automating reporting alerts for different enterprise functions.🔹 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬:I loved this project. It was one of the toughest and most rewarding projects in my healthcare analytics career.With no documentation of old reports and no clear list of what reports needed rewriting, I took on the role of a business analyst in addition to my regular IT report developer responsibilities. I worked with stakeholders across the project lifecycle, including technical managers, database administrators, and data architects, from requirements gathering and prototype design to user acceptance testing and production release.This project was a massive undertaking. With a colleague, I created documentation processes, wrote algorithms, and developed SQL procedures and new user-friendly dashboards that led to C-Suite and company-wide recognition.🏆 𝗪𝗢𝗪 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱: Deployed a process mining dashboard in operating rooms, leveraging real-time analytics, such as case volume metrics and utilization rates. This innovative dashboard provided drill-down visualizations that pinpointed the top 10 surgery delays and enhanced OR decision-making, earning support from the CIO.💡 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗜𝗱𝗲𝗮 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱: Designed algorithms and intuitive dashboards that integrated UH's surgical application with Allscripts EMR/EHR platform.   🔹 𝐒𝐜𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐨𝐥𝐞:I was recruited to this start-up to collaborate with the VP of Implementation Analytics in pioneering quality analytics and payment performance solutions aligned to HEDIS, NCQA, and NQF frameworks for episode-based care delivery models.Additionally, I served as the designated HEDIS subject-matter expert for all Signify provider partners, health plans, and government programs.My role primarily focused on dissecting complex metrics across diverse domains, including substance use disorders, pharmacy management, medication adherence, provider quality, breast cancer episodes, and internal marketing and business development requests. With a keen focus on documentation and technical specifications, I navigated intricate datasets to uncover strategic insights.🔹 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐲𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐈𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞:For one of my pivotal challenges, I tackled the development of substance use disorder measures using claims data from scratch—a notoriously complicated effort due to clinical vagueness.
