      Project Manager

With graduate scheme opportunities scarce upon leaving University I took a temporary administrative role within a Council. By demonstrating my talent I rose quickly and was given a management grade and a permanent role within 2 months of joining. Main responsibilities and achievements in this role: I managed the opening of a new building to house multiple government agencies. This involved full ownership of all decision making, negotiating requirements with senior management from all agencies involved, managing the building fit out and organising the launch event. I was solely responsible for implementing a new database into 50 youth centres across Tower Hamlets to compile MI. Other councils across the UK had teams and specialists to implement this system. Mine was regarded as one of the most successful implementations nationwide. Aged 22 I was made a Principal Officer, one of the youngest people to achieve this grade in Councils nationwide. Show less

    • Deloitte

      Jan 2006 - Apr 2011

I managed Statutory Audit and Advisory engagements for Banking clients. Gaining a Chartered accountancy qualification whilst quickly gaining responsibility for delivering large projects and managing large teams developed deep Finance knowledge, management and leadership skills. Details of some of the many projects I worked on at Deloitte are below: Large UK investment Bank (Audit project): I simultaneously managed the audit of two divisions of a large international Bank. This highly visible role developed experience of managing competing priorities and high pressure with short deadlines and limited resources. Large UK investment Bank (Audit project): I managed the audit of 40 complex structuring subsidiaries for 3 years. There were a large number of client and EY stakeholders involved with differing goals, which meant advanced management skills were required to ensure successful delivery of a portfolio of 40 projects each with its own milestones. Global investment Bank (Advisory project): I walked through Finance processes to identify the root causes and fixes for the large volume of manual entries within the Commodities department. Global Investment Bank (Advisory project): I investigated and remediated issues with Equity Swaps processes that were causing suspense account balances. I examined processes and data from Front Office systems, through Product Control and Operations into the general ledger. Show less
