  Duties Performed:Quality Control• Ensuring that the instrument is calibrated correctly before the analysis also doing the balance verification Identify laboratory equipment and reagents required.• Operate laboratory equipment.• Ensure that the equipment is always maintained in a good condition• Ensure that reagents used are not expired and are not contaminated before using.• Ensure that sufficient quantities of reagents are available at all times• Collect equipment and reagents from main laboratory as required• Taking representative samples at different points in the plant according to procedures / supervisor. This includes final product samples, product samples still in the system and coating oil samples• Analyse samples taken and record them according to procedures or as required by PPO or supervisor• Making sure that the house keeping is maintained to avoid contamination of th samples. • Technical report writing• Participate in safety awareness presentations• Application of safety measures. (following ISO standards, i.e. ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 18001).Plant Operation• Cleaning of the equipments• Opening and closing all valves as instructed by supervisor• Report any problems to shift supervisor• Ensure the ammonia area is safe at all times• Operate valves to control levels of ammonia storage tanks.• Constant monitoring of conditions in ammonia tank farm with special attention to tank temperature, pressure and percentage air.• Purge ammonia lines on suction / discharge of pumps in preparation for maintenance.• Operations of chemical process equipment in own area of responsibility according to specific plant operations procedures• Take samples as per procedures as and when required.
