CPM 203 is a critical thinking & Study Skills course at the University at Buffalo. In addition to typical Teaching Assistant duties such as taking attendance & grading assignments, I monitored & tracked my students’ grades, & overall progress throughout the semester. Using this information in conjunction with students' self-reports supplied during weekly one-on-one meetings, I identified & documented individual students’ skills & weaknesses. In class, the instructor taught essential critical thinking & study skills which I used in the meetings to provide guidance & instruction to complement each student’s learning style. Show less (This summer orientation is an intensive 3 week program designed to introduce incoming EOP freshmen to the rigors of academia.) In addition to typical Teaching Assistant duties such as grading assignments & tests, monitoring attendance, & initiating disciplinary action, I held PSY 101 recitation/group tutoring sessions 17+ hours per week & supervised the progress of approximately 60 students. Due to the intensity of the program, it was also required to discreetly but regularly monitor the students' social & emotional well-being, initiating one-on-one intervention if necessary. Show less
