Show less Initially employed in the position of full time warehouse operative, I quickly progressed on to the transport department as a Class 2 driver. Following the possibility of being made redundant due to closure of the site, I accepted a position in the role of Warehouse Operative where I progressed my career, firstly training as a Distribution Coordinator, covering several periods of absence and staff shortages. I also undertook an extended period of holiday cover in the role of Customer service and Logistics Coordinator. After this, I was successful in securing a role as Bulk Distribution Team Leader on a secondment . During my secondment I secured a position within the development programme for future Team Leaders. Upon completion of this course I was successful in my application for a full time Team lead position. In this role my key responsibilities incorporate the daily management of my team to safely and efficiently complete the loading of vehicles whilst adhering to company safety standards and specific budgeted targets. I also have a responsibility to ensure the correct resource is in place, cost effectively fulfilling the immediate operational requirements.Among my other responsibilities are a daily team brief and site housekeeping tour, completion and distribution of the daily reports and one to one management of my team’s requirements. During my time in role I have been fortunate to play a key role in the transition of the business in its migration to SAP. This included gaining a solid knowledge base of the new systems, both during interim and final state. As a result of this, I am able to ensure the smooth running of the operation, and provide root cause analysis to enable my team to be self-reliant. My knowledge gained is also used when communicating with central teams to protect site based budget targets.
