  Work directly with patients who have either a cardiac or pulmonary diagnosis either before or after their incident, in an outpatient setting. Prehab is dedicated to those who have a diagnosis, are awaiting surgery, and are put into a program to help assess and improve their current condition. Rehabilitation programs include Traditional Cardiac Rehab (TCR), Pulmonary Rehab, and Cardio-Oncology Rehab (CORE). There are also a variety of services including patient education, stress management, diet and nutrition, medication, and others. Blood pressure is taken accordingly for all patients and each is assessed for any new changes. Telemetry monitoring is a factor for cardiac and prehab patients. Attending the cardiovascular ICU, cardiac catheterization lab, nuclear testing, and shadowing cardiothoracic surgeries is also a part of interning at Novant. Show less
