      President & CEO

I founded this company based on my assessment of the internet market potential in Ottawa. The company grew to 7,000 customers and generated $5M in annual revenues (70% residential market, 30% commercial). In 2001, a second company in Peterborough was purchased to expand the area of operation. The business was sold in 2004 to Telecom Ottawa, a division of Ottawa Hydro. Managed and directed all aspects of a start-up internet company. Continually assessed market trends and technologies to grow the company from 200 to 7,000 customers in 9 years. Successfully enhanced market share, by developing strong relationships and major resale agreements with 20 independent computer vendors and resellers throughout the Ottawa region; as a result, company sales revenue soared by 100% annually during first 4 years of operation.Created one of Canada's first e-commerce sites, accepting credit card payments securely. Grew hosted web site clientele to 200 companies, including major tech firms in Ottawa's dot.com era.Increased company’s clientele and expanded from regional provider to provincial provider by acquiring 3 small, independent ISPs, increasing company revenue by 60% while holding cost increases constant.Began the process to achieve ISO 9001 status prior to the sale of the business.Sold the company to Telecom Ottawa in 2004. Within 2 months of initial negotiations, reached a highly lucrative deal benefiting all employees that involved job security and substantial raises.Winner of the Gold Consumers Choice Award in 2003 for customer service in the Ottawa market. The Consumers' Choice Award is an initiative of Consumers' Choice Institute (U.S.A.) and Consumers' Choice Institute (Canada), which has retained a leading independent research firm to conduct a survey in major U.S. and Canadian cities.
