  • Experience

    • University of san diego

      Jan 2012 - May 2014
      Undergraduate researcher

Designed amphiphilic graft copolymers via copper-catalyzed azide-alkyne cycloaddition chemistry. The copolymers exhibited high thermal stability and processability for thin film applications.Advisor: Peter Iovine

    • The university of southern mississippi

      Aug 2014 - May 2019
      Ph.d. student

My research at USM encompassed surface-grafted polymer brushes for the rational design of surfaces exhibiting multifunctional chemistries and tunable morphologies (i.e. microscopic form and organization of polymers) across multiple length scales. Employed various post-polymerization modification reactions to tune surface chemistry and properties and utilized a number of surface characterization techniques. Advisor: Derek Patton

    • National science foundation (nsf)

      Apr 2016 - Mar 2019
      Nsf nrt fellowship

The National Science Foundation Research Traineeship traineeship (NRT) program is designed to encourage the development and implementation of bold, new, potentially transformative, and scalable models for STEM graduate education training. NRT also seeks to catalyze and advance cutting-edge interdisciplinary research, and prepare STEM graduate students more effectively for multiple research and research-related career paths.

      Jun 2018 - Aug 2018
      Ph.d. research intern

I worked with Dr. Graeme Moad at CSIRO in Clayton, Victoria through the 2018 Australia-Americas Ph.D. Research Internship Program. My work focused on light-induced single unit monomer insertion (SUMI) via reversible addition-fragmentation chain-transfer (RAFT) polymerization - towards sequence-controlled polymers.

    • Los alamos national laboratory

      Jun 2019 - Oct 2020
      Postdoctoral research associate

Postdoc in the Materials Development Team in the Engineering Materials Group (MST-7) at LANL. My work utilized additive manufacturing, specifically digital light processing (DLP) printing, to design a wide variety of complex, functional materials.
