My research is focused in understanding the interactions of mucosal microbiomes with fungal infectious diseases affecting wildlife, as the effects of pesticides on the microbiome. I am mainly interested in exploring the microbiome of oviparous reptiles at early and late developmental stages. In the era of the Anthropocene, the aim of my research is to understand the causes of population declines, specially in the last pristine environments, in order to contribute to the conservation of wildlife species.
