      The Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) was authorized under Section 404 & 406 of the Robert T. Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act and provides FEMA the authority to fund the restoration of eligible facilities that have sustained damage due to a presidentially declared disaster. Title 44 CFR §206.226 (Restoration of damaged facilities) contains a provision for the consideration of funding additional measures that will enhance a facility's ability to resist similar damage in future events. Position Description~ Manage multiple elevation projects in various stages of construction. ~ Act as Subject Matter Expert in all aspects of the HMGP and elevation projects.~ Schedule and conduct mediation meetings to resolve project issues.~ Enforce program policy compliance with contractors.~ Coordinate with contractors and local Gov officials to achieve project completion.~ Provide technical assistance to clients.~ Conduct Quality Control and pre-final inspection site surveys. Key Accomplishments:Finalized 400 home elevation projects that went to final payment stage totaling $10 million.Saved the program $700 thousand by identifying SF overages estimated by contractor.
