      Cable Asset Manager for the East West Interconnector (EWIC).The EastWest Interconnector is a 500 MW HVDC link connecting the Irish and UK national grids. It is the largest voltage sourced conversion High Voltage Direct Current scheme currently in operation in the world today.Responsibilities:- Management of the 260 km of high voltage HVAC and HVDC cables on EWIC. (Value: ~300m euro)- Contract Management: Management of a suite of contracts associated with the EWIC cable assets. -Leading full public procurement tenders, associated interview and tender evaluations up-to OJEU level.- Managing a team of contractors responsible for processing the day-to-day close proximity civil works (B4UDig activities) next to the live HVDC cables on the 70 km of the EWIC land route.- Engaging in proactive stakeholder engagement with project developers, local Councils, Government Departments and Energy Regulators on a daily basis.- Management of unique cables spares depot in Liverpool docks- Management of contractors & consultants- Cable budget and training management Show less Responsible for the expansion, procurement, calibration, installation and upkeep of Disturbance Recorders on the HV transmission network. This includes the retrofitting of new devices in place of failed legacy devices.Drafting, executing and reporting on switching plans at HV sub-stations. Including relay trip testing, interlocking, signal verification and verifying the correct mechanical operation of plant.HV transmission fault investigation using ABB, Toshiba and Siemens fault records; Includes the use of SIGRE, CAP540, SMSBase, Excel and VBA scripting.Other duties include set-up of remote interrogation to Siemens V3 and V4 relays over both Ethernet and dial-up, protection signal testing with Areva SCADA system, setting up numerical relays in laboratory for testing, calculation of fault levels at new sub-station sites ahead of earth grid design and generation of harmonics reports.
