      Nov 2007 - Nov 2017

The VP of Gas Pipeline Safety and Compliance selected me for this role, in which I led 3 regions—New England, Upstate New York and New York City—in pipeline safety and compliance. I developed and supervised National Grid's Process Safety Management System, which by instituting effective risk controls and methods for hazard identification, mitigated the risk associated with all predetermined process safety assets throughout our US operations. I also launched and implemented new API 1173 standards ensuring compliance. I directed 3 Regional Managers and led them in a Management of Change process. I also created a continuous learning environment for both our employees and our customers. This ensured that our staff stayed on top of the latest safety standards, and it also improved our customers' understanding. Show less As the lead manager on this end-to-end process, I was accountable for ensuring that we achieved excellence targets that were set in conjunction with National Grid's Elevate 2018 initiative.I led cross-functional collaboration efforts to drive process excellence and efficiency. This included identifying opportunities to improve operational, asset and customer service performance, which enabled our projects to be delivered safely, efficiently and within regulatory standards and compliance.I also led initiatives to develop improvements to our end-to-end processes. This included:• Validation, testing and execution• Managing and executing contingency plans• Minimizing network disturbance • Ensuring complianceFrom Nov. 2007-May 2013, I was the Director of Field Operation for the Downstate NYC region, where I managed the operational aspect of a complex gas distribution system in order to safely and reliably provide natural gas to New York City's 3 outer boroughs – Brooklyn, Queens and Staten Island. I also owned the process for the US enterprise-wide Auxiliary Operations. One of my key accomplishments was achieving results on a leak cost reduction project that had been attempted many times to no success. I implemented Six Sigma to drive out the variation in the process. This led to an immediate reduction in the average leak repair cost that saved $1.2M in O&M costs. My efforts resulted in our field having the lowest average leak cost in the US and prevented O&M rate relief increases. Show less
