      Customer Service Representative

I began my junior year of high school as a cashier. I was responsible for learning inventory and providing the customer with a pleasant experience right before leaving the store. I received a promotion to Customer Service Representative. My role was to provide excellent customer service to all customers, handle returns and store issues, and pay bills and MoneyGram orders electronically for customers. As the Customer Service representative, the most important role was to maintain a stable and functioning front end. At the end of the night, I was responsible for counting all the money we had received that day at the Customer Service desk, as well as each Cashier’s till. This job taught me people skills, teamwork, inventory knowledge, reliability, and accounting skills. Show less

      Nanny

I have had the opportunity to nanny for children as young as 6 months old to age fourteen. As a full time nanny, I oversaw meal prepping, driving the children to and from activities, putting them to bed, and homeschooling the children during the day. Kids teach you to be patient and creative. I believe nannying has taught me to think critically, imaginatively, and creatively, which I will apply to my scientific research. I have stopped working full-time as a nanny but still work part-time when possible. Show less

My responsibilities included seating customers in a timely manner, assisting servers and staff when needed, planning seating arrangements for larger parties, and answering customer questions and concerns in person and over the phone. I was a part of the staff for the Lesner Inn, their partner company, as well. Our role as the wedding staff included, setting up and taking down the venue, preparing and serving food and drinks, and providing the wedding party and their guests with a day they will always hold fondly. Jan 2019 - Dec 2019

As an Express Lane representative in the Online shopping department. Our job was to shop orders sent in through our online website from customers. After shopping a given order, we would call the customer to let them know their order had been completed and was ready for pickup. The customer is informed of any out-of-stock items and replacements. The customer would call our number when they pulled up to our store. We would ring them up and load the groceries into their car for them. It is very typical to develop close relationships with each of our online customers. Show less

      Longcreek Oyster Company

I have had the opportunity to work on Long Creek Sound with Long Creek Oyster Company and Lynnhaven River now. The goal was to help clean and maintain the health of the oysters as they grow on the farm. We planted seedlings (Oyster Spat) for future farming and restoration. Oyster reef beds are crucial in preventing erosion, supplying an ecosystem for hundreds of species, and they help to filter fifty gallons of water in the Chesapeake Bay every day. I am honored to be a part of this project.

    • Plastic Tides

      Nov 2021 - now

As the Plastic Tides Social Media Director, I have many responsibilities and have grown in my leadership skills. I am in charge of a team of wonderful content creators that design environmental-based content. I plan out a schedule of content at the beginning of each month and assign a content creator to each assignment with a deadline. Every other week I host a team meeting where we go over updates from each content creator, on their progress, as well as any updates from our director, and questions the team may have on content. I enjoy being able to plan out content that is posted in a curated way, as well as the engagement I have with my team. Show less As the GYM Content Creator for Plastic Tides, I have had the opportunity to take on many new projects that I am very passionate about. GYM is Plastic Tides newest program. We take students between the ages of 12-18 years old and pair them with scientific researchers all over the world. Together they embark on a journey to find out answers about our environment and the impact each person can make to change their community for the better. In this position, I am responsible for contacting all student and mentor partnerships to make sure they are meeting deadlines and staying on task with their environmental projects all over the world. I can recognize and voice these students and their work through our social media platforms. Show less
