      • Project 1: Analysis of Wildfire Aerosols in Reno, Nevada (USA)• Demonstrated the differences in aerosol characteristics between days with and without influences from wildfire smoke and the impact of wildfire emissions on local air quality.• Successfully used the positive matrix factorization (PMF) method to identify wildfire emissions.• Project 2: Wildfire Impact Identification Using Numerical Techniques• Successfully used machine learning (k-means clustering) technique to identify wildfire emissions.• Demonstrated that wildfire emissions can be separated into different groups with different characteristics.• Plotted wildfires on interactive maps and demonstrated possible reasons that can cause different features between different wildfire emissions.• Project 3: Wildfire Impact Classification Using Numerical Techniques• Successfully used machine learning (Random Forest classification) technique to classify air quality (smoke-influenced/non-smoke-influenced) using regular air pollutant concentrations.• Provided an efficient way to identify if the high air pollutant concentrations are caused by fires, which is very useful for environmental bureaus.• Presentations on Wildfire Science subject cooperated with Project Ashfall • Presented at multiple places, including Galena Creek Visitor Center, Rancho San Rafael Regional Park, and the University of Nevada, Reno NevadaTeach Program STEM club. • Introduced to the public how wildfires can affect human health and climate and how people can help on data collection.• Presentation on Desert Research Institute Science Talk.
