    • Alpha Sigma Phi Fraternity

      Dec 2013 - Dec 2015

Liaison between our chapter and the school when dealing with school officials, Greek Council, and the undergraduate body. Chaired our chapter’s weekly meetings intended for the proposal of any new business and forum topics - modeled after Robert’s Rules of Order. Was also in charge of making executive decisions when dealing with any pressing matters or situations where risk had to be managed. Managed and budged $175,000 for the Fraternity, which included: allocating funds for 14 officers and chairs to operate their positions, and accommodating precautionary funds for utilities and maintenance issues. This position has allowed me to learn how to file taxes for a non-exempt organization, as well as create my own policy for all future Treasurers detailing out proper procedure to handle fraternity funds.

      Machine Operator, Welding Department

Operated and maintained over 40 industrial grade machines, and learned to operate the ZC-D line independently. Fabricated numerous car parts using various methods of welding and inspected each item to assure compliance with the Company’s Quality Control policies. By the end of my tenure at Futaba, I trained new employees to work on the ZC-D line and reinforced the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE); and became familiar with re-working bad welds to ensure parts passed a leak test and complied with company specifications. Project Manager & Cost Estimator

PM:Review awarded projects to develop a thorough understanding of each project’s scope and overall design. Compile & submit RFIs for unspecified finishes & request submittals per specifications. Prepare drawings for field clarifying & highlighting details that might be overlooked to maximize productivity & profitability. Order any long lead products & material once all submittals have been approved, notify client of long lead items and follow up with vendors to track deliveries. Review contracts & confirm scope & requirements listed reflect scope covered during bidding. Prepare or request paperwork required for preconstruction meetings - JHA, SSSP, COI, city license. Prepare spec sheet for field outlining exact project scope & accounting SOV prior to mobilization. Visit sites weekly to verify project progress, correct workflow sequencing & address issues that arise in the field or provide further direction on items not captured in drawings. Attend weekly project meetings to provide field updates & address issues as they arise as well as participate in phase & six week pull plans as required. Price Bulletins as they are issued throughout the course of a project. Review timecards, tickets & project summaries weekly to verify correct task codes are being used. Review project progress & forecast until end of month when completing pay apps & ensure project cost is covered.Estimator:Provide Division 9 estimates using OST to create detailed quantity take offs after analyzing construction drawings (varying from sketches to IFC sets), specifications, defining project scope from limited information, providing VE alternatives, and identifying potential risks on a project. If needed, I contact and organize sub-contractor quotes, verify material cost, and identify potential lead times. Using Sage Estimating I translate take off quantities to production assemblies that account for labor duration, production rates, as well as account for material coverage and costs. Show less
