  Created, executed and evaluated policy strategy for the leading statewide non-profit addressing hunger. Led community-based advocacy campaigns that encouraged grassroots involvement in the legislative process. Built strong, lasting relationships with Michigan's Congressional delegation and national advocacy/policy organizations. Planned and coordinated annual network lobby days at state and national Capitols. Attended public hearings and legislative meetings on behalf of the organization. Developed and implemented strategic network framework to address barriers to social services in seven regional food bank territories. Managed projects pertaining to member special interests including capacity building, logistics and volunteer recruitment. Obtained historic bipartisan passage of the Farm Bill through coordinated, widespread, multi-sector advocacy from stakeholders in Michigan. Managed grant-based nutrition education and produce distribution program with annual budget of $2.5 million. Utilized nutrition expertise to advise on policy initiatives related to food access and nutrition. Collaborated with statewide entities to develop tools that promoted positive behavioral change related to food intake.
