  The FLOW Follies

  I am about to begin my 7th year as the Executive Director working the High School parents of the FLOW district (Franklin Lakes, Oakland, and Wyckoff), in their annual original musical production. The shows are full-length productions written and performed entirely by the FLOW parents. The purpose of FLOW Follies is to raise college scholarship funds for graduating seniors of the two area high schools - Ramapo and Indian Hills. Now in their 26th year, the organization has raised in excess of $600K and the revenues have increased in every year since I became involved. I try to make the production a fun and enjoyable experience for the volunteer actors and believe in building long time friendships which allows for a new wave of parents who eagerly want to replace the ones who leave. Understanding how each person learns is essential to directing and getting the most out of each parent. Show less

  I am responsible for choosing each year's production and coordinating all the moving pieces to ensure a successful show. I work with between 50-70 students, so classroom management and understanding different learning styles is essential. I bring 30 years of professional entertainment experience to the "actors" and my goal is always to make sure each student has their moment to shine. I am about to start work on my 4th production.

  I work with Special Needs students of Elementary and Middle School-age students who, for various reasons, are learning privately outside of the classroom environment. I am their primary teacher, teaching full days on a one-to-one basis. Whether due to illness, physical or emotional challenges, each student's needs are accounted for in devising optimal instructional methods to help them succeed as individuals.
