      Responsible for the overall operation of Washington Air Route Traffic Control Center, a Level 12 ARTCC with over 500 air traffic employees and an annual operational traffic count in excess of 2.8 million operations (fifth busiest in the National Airspace System (NAS)). Washington ARTCC provides direct support to the defense of the National Capital Region and Presidential aircraft movements from Andrews AFB. The facility controls traffic arriving and departing from the Washington, DC and New York City metropolitan areas, as well as over 5 mid-Atlantic States.I actively participated in the facility proficiency training program, setting the example by completing refresher and proficiency training requirements as was expected of air traffic control specialsists and front-line managers.
