      Food Server

While my undergraduate studies were put on pause by the pandemic, I spent the summer between my freshman and sophomore years of college as a waitress at my local Mexican restaurant. While there, I learned valuable time management and customer service skills that I still utilize today. I also learned ways to communicate effectively and collaboratively solve problems across language barriers. These skills were invaluable and I'm thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the restaurant service. Show less

    • Salem Memorial District Hospital

      Jun 2021 - now
      Nursing Assistant

I began my work as a Nursing Assistant at SMDH in June of 2021 in an effort to begin gaining patient care experience for my goal of attending a Physician Assistant graduate program. Since then, I have had the honor to work at SMDH in the Acute Care unit for two summers, while also completing PRN shifts during school breaks. Upon graduation Through my work as a Nursing Assistant, I have gained the patient care skills I will need to succeed in my healthcare career. However, I believe that the most important skill I have refined as an NA is the essential human skill of empathy, which I know will make me an excellent PA-C. Show less
