      The Tesla Minor connects science, business, and society.• Project: In preparation for a new contract tender, DJI asked us how to fully utilise the renewal to make DJI a more impactful organisation. We conducted interviews with internal and external stakeholders, experts (on e.g. circular economy), and made a visit to PI Heerhugowaard (visits to other PI’s were cancelled due to the pandemic).• Next to the consultancy project, the minor offered a wide variety of training sessions, workshops, lectures, and assignments.       • Designed and carried out a study that focussed on developing a gating mechanism for a closed-loop auditory stimulation algorithm, which aims to deepen a persons’ sleep by presenting pink (meaningless) noise at specific moments in time during deep sleep. I assessed the accuracy of the gating mechanism and the accuracy of the stimuli targeting.• Responsibilities included participant recruitment & screening, literature research, executing nap and full-night measurements, EEG-capping, sleep stage scoring, creating questionnaires to assess user experience and user interface, data analysis, and providing recommendations on how the algorithm's gating mechanism and the EEG-headband (and its accessory app) should be improved.
