I was managing the Humanitarian Health services, first in a transit camp in Nyakabande/Kisoro and later as the Team leader/In charge of Nakivale Health Centre in the them Mbarara district. I succefully managed the prevention of epidemics which were rampant among the Congolese refugees, established and managed a successful programme to increase access to quality Sexual reproductive Health and HIV/STI services and general public Health services. I was the leader of the central Uganda Public Private partnerships for Health with the Uganda's Ministry of Health and contributed to the drafting of the Public Private partnerships for Health policy in Uganda. Provide leadership in strategic programme planning, coordination and implementation; Led the initial designing of a comprehensive adolescent SRHR/MH/GBV programme (ANSWER) for UNFPA funded by the Netherlands government. Led the UNFPA orientation of the SRHR/MH/GBV programme to each of ten west Nile districts; led the orientation of the UNFPA programme to new local government leaders in west Nile districts. and participated in the UNFPA implementing partners’ selection for the SRHR/GBV /HIV in west Nile districts. Leads and does regular programme monitoring, with support to implementing partners, local governments and other stakeholders. Support constant humanitarian assessments for SRHR/MH/GBV interventions. Initiated and designed tools for continuous pregnancy mapping in communities including refugee settlements; Prepared, led and represented the UNFPA in biannual regional Health assemblies in west Nile region for the over four years. Continuously led hosting of donor visits and other external visits to the UNFPA programme. Led UNFPA in the Covid19 response and technical guidance to west Nile districts on the pillar of continuity of access to SRHR/MH/GBV services and covid19 prevention. provide leadership for Ambulances management and efficient and safe referrals system. Providing supervision of other staff, (one time up to 3) and ensuring efficiency and effectiveness of our services. Hosted several ministerial, donor missions and other UN agencies representatives in the region. Member and health technical leader in the UNAC in west Nile region. Managing the Office day-to-day operations including budgeting, strategic planning, staff productivity and provision of life-saving interventions to the Imvepi, Bidi Bidi and Rhino camp refugee settlements in the region. Show less This was my first UNFPA position where i supported the establishment of the SRHR/GBV programme in the New refugee programme in Kyangwali.Initiated and led the UNFPA programme implementation in this new refugee settlement and the development nexus in three districts of Kikuube, Kyegegwa and Kamwenge.Provided the initial programme designs including all tools like pregnancy mapping, VHT reporting and referral forms. Led the tecnnical support and monitoring of implementing partners and other stakeholders in the refugee settlements. Established the ambulance/referral management and technical led the strategy of improving functionality of Health Centre IVs to minimize referrals and provide better maternal health outcomes. Trained Health workers in all the three refugee settlements in MISP, CMRS, BEMOC and other SRHR/MH/GBV packages. Led the creation of the GBV and the SRHR/MH working groups. Led and supported monthly district health team meetings including Health partners in humanitarian settings and established a working relationship with the UNHCR health implementing partners with the UNFPA partners. Initiated and carried out regular studies including one that established why women did not deliver in Health facilities as much as they attend ANC, causes of teenage pregnancies and early marriages among Congolese refugees. Established and monthly, coordinated the maternal and perinatal death reviews and supported the implementation of the MPDSR deaths. Held regular meetings with other UN agencies especially UNHCR, UNICEF and WFP in the region. Established the adolescent health programme with training of peer educators and mentors. Led the designing of the GBV referral pathway in each of the three refugee settlements. Show less
