Jobs For Ohio Graduates Career Specialist

In this very diverse position, I would recruit students with at least one barrier to graduation, then teach them life and job skills to help them transition to their post high-school career. My duties often included classroom management, instruction, and often career counseling.

    • Gallipolis City Schools

      Aug 2003 - Aug 2019
      Teacher, English Language Arts

I currently teach 10th grade English Language arts. As part of this I plan, deliver, and manage the curriculum while simultaneously evaluating the students progress as well as my delivery methods. Classroom management such as behavioral expectations and daily/weekly routines also fall into my duties. Additionally, I have served as the school's Mock Trial Adviser, junior high track coach. and technology coordinator. One can often find me working after school in the district's after school programs where I have worked to tutor students as well as keep them actively engaged in school by planning and supervising fun activities which often include skateboarding, disc golf, or poetry. • Hillbilly Outlaw Slalom Skateboarders (HOSS)

      Jan 2005 - now
      Co-Founder and Skateboarder

This is a loose conglomeration of skateboarders throughout the US, but most densely populated in the Appalachian Region. We often organize demonstrations, races (where we also compete, albeit with varying degrees of success), and sessions along with other skateboarding-related activities. While, as the name states, most of our activities involve slalom, by no means do we exclude other disciplines of skateboarding. Members can often be seen at parks, in the streets, on hills, or participating in the community centered activities where we have helped raise money for charities. Show less
