  The EMT Instructor was a position located at Magna Vista and Bassett High Schools in Henry County, VA. I taught in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings. I was responsible for preparing, delivering didactic, and laboratory education that paralleled the NHTSA, Virginia Office of EMS, and National Standards curriculum. Participated in curriculum review and design. Implemented a variety of effective instructional strategies consistent with lesson objectives. Diagnosed and evaluated student abilities and progress in a timely and consistent manner. Monitored student progress and adjusted instruction accordingly. Planned a program of study that met the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students. Created a classroom environment that was conducive to learning.   Assists in the development and coordination of emergency services training programs for both career and volunteer responders. Assists in ensuring the availability of introductory, basic, advanced and in-service training for emergency responders along with the related equipment and facilities necessary. Works with other jurisdictions, applicable regions, state and national organizations to ensure the highest quality of training is available to the area. Assists in the development and administration of training programs related to emergency responses to include but not limited to emergency medical services, crash/rescue, terrorism preparedness, and incident management.
