  Working within the nuclear defence sectorWorked with a team through the design process of the project. As we were a build only contract we needed to find any notable differences between design phases and highlight these changes to the client. I also helped identify clashes in pipework, wall locations changing and light switches being shown behind the wall cladding. I also helped develop the document register for the entire project, ensuring all of the documents were filed and organised accordingly. With this I ensured that the correct documents were being referenced before works were conducted. I also helped in the setting out of the piling mat, which indicated the mat was not large enough for the proposed pile locations

  Working on an overhead lines project with underground cablingThe placement started by me gaining an understanding of the works to be conducted. From there I was given more responsibilities, with this I achieved my CSCS qualification. This meant I was able to supervise works conducted on site. I worked to positively intervene when work was not being conducted in a way I saw fit and also questioned incorrect uses of PPE. Furthermore, I witnessed the high voltage testing of new temporary H pole sections. Finally, I helped develop a project programme for new works that had become available for the team Show less

  I am currently working within a small team for the nuclear defence sector. My role is to aid in the tendering of works. This includes attending client ran workshops for collaborative behaviours as well as technical workshops to demonstrate our capabilities. I also work closely with the supply chain to obtain a costs for the proposed works, this also highlighted innovative ideas which could be implemented to save time and money on the project. Furthermore, I work within the team to aid the construction for the programme for the mechanical and electrical components of the works. Finally, I worked alongside the risk coordinator, to enable me to generate the clients risk register for the project and understand mitigation measures which could be implemented to reduce the risks Show less
