      Emergency Department Administrative Specialist

A high paced Secretarial Job using an on line Electronic Medical Record System (EMR) in a Level 1 Trauma Center. Administrative Specialists have more administrative privileges than Unit Secretaries in that ER Admin. Spec's can enter orders via Md Verbal Order or Protocol Guidelines. Take all incoming calls to the ER for doctors, nurses, management and patients. Make all out going calls to outside doctors on behalf of the ER physicians and staff. Manage all incoming documentation/paperwork of medical history for all patients & ensure efficient scanning & upload of said documents into patients EMR in a timely manner so all physicians, Nurse Practitioners and Physician's Assistants have easy access to information. AWC also supports Bethany House, an emergency shelter for women and their children who have been forced to leave their residence due to a threatening situation, generally domestic violence. AWC provides support in the form of Welcome Baskets which generally consist of basic personal items. Most women and children who enter Bethany House come with nothing other than the clothes on their back so these basic items are extremely important to help them maintain a sense of normalcy in their abnormal situation. Certified Massage Therapist

Licensed Massage Therapist; I trained at the National Massage Therapy Institute in Falls Church, Va and did an advanced study program of 720 hours which included Sports Massage, Pre-Natal and Geriatric massage. I am NCBTMB certified and maintain my National Certification with continuing education seminars every year. I enjoy attending CE training so I can learn new techniques and new modalities to better help my clients. I don't believe in using strictly one technique for my clients. I believe in using every technique I have learned to help my client achieve the best result. A session may start with Myofascial Release, move into Swedish massage, then advance into Trigger Point treatment, passive stretching, Deep Tissue massage and finish with Effleurage Sweeping to keep the Lymphatic system going post massage. Several of my clients affectionately call me "The Knot Whisperer" which I greatly appreciate. Show less
