  As the Derrickman I am responsible for the pumping, monitoring and storage of all fluids associated with drilling. On a regular basis I supervise the processing of these fluids (some hydrocarbons such as synthetic oil based drilling fluid as well as water based) through units that may filter, separate and mix plus recording and documenting of these processes. As the drilling fluid is our primary form of well control maintaining the correct volume, pressure and property of the fluids is paramount to a safe controlled operation and workplace and this includes proper equipment maintenance and repair.
