      I was fortunate enough to do my degree using film cameras, and had a dark room to hand at all times for the first 2 years. This involved developing my own film, processing my own negatives, creating some wonderful imagery. Digital was a big focus in my third year, using my DLSR and Adobe Creative on a daily basis.

      Mayday is a charitable trust that offers supported housing for vulnerable people who are faced with homelessness. My role as a PAM was to carry out a comprehensive assessment of clients, focusing on their assets and needs that link to a tiered system of service provision. I was expected to effectively develop support plans based on the clients needs and refer them to external agencies to help deliver a successful outcome. When working with clients, I was responsible for arranging one to one mentoring sessions where I guided and encouraged development of personal assets in order to achieve wellbeing and financial capability. I also organised a work experience placement for a group of clients, completed risk assessments, arranged transport and organised social and sports events. Alongside my role, I was also part of ‘Staff Voices’, which is a staff forum aimed to help shape change within the company and involved in the Mayday App Development team. Show less As the first point of contact for prospective clients and external agencies wanting to apply for supported housing with Mayday Trust, I was expected to collate information, input the relevant data and arrange interviews with the applicant and the referring agent in order to accept or decline the application. It was my duty to maintain positive links with referring agencies such as Social Workers, Parole Officers, Community Mental Health Teams and Northants Council.I worked closely with my line manager, senior management and Director of Operations to ensure the successful implementation and effectiveness of the Trust’s information management systems.
