  What an experience! It was like going to college two years before going to college, with some of the brightest, most talented peers -- everyone from Mike Davies (Executive Producer of Who Wants to be a Millionaire) to Academy Award winner Benicio del Toro to Olympic Gold Medalist Melvin Stewart. The instructors, the environment, the countryside ... I loved it.

  Activities and Societies: Primary undergrad major in Psychology, with a double major in English Literature, thanks to reading Oliver Sacks. Then went on for a master's in English Literature, with an emphasis in the Romantic and Modernist poets. Wore a lot of tie-dyed t-shirts; played drums and guitars; played with D'Javaheads, a Southern Rock/Blues band around Waco and College Station; taught Freshman English classes while writing my thesis 1992-1993; knew the infamous and dasterdly David Koresh aka Vernon Howell (he was a musician); worked and taught drum lessons at Piazza's String World.

  Started as a lowly staff writer but ended up as Business Development Director reporting to the Marketing executive. Worked with many financial, telecommunications, healthcare Fortune 500 companies on effective printed customer communications. Big contribution: Launching the company's first online content services.

  Customer Innovation Manager
  Our customer innovation team reported to the Alamo Marketing VP, and I regularly worked with executives, marketing, product managers and operations teams to research and develop new services and customer experiences, not the least of which were parts of Alamo's massive facility redesign and environmental rebranding. Best project ever -- linking reservation and rental systems to create the first complete online rental experience, where customers knew exactly what their charges would be and could sign the rental agreement online. This was paired with a rental counter bypass innovation. Fun! Show less
