      St Stephen's is a village church school with approximately 190 pupils aged 4 to 11. The governing body act as employers of the staff, guardians of the school ethos, and partners of the senior management team in defining a strategy for the school. Involves:• being a strategic and critical friend of the school and Headteacher• monitoring and evaluating the school's performance and KS1 & KS2 targets, through data evaluation, ensuring progress is made by all of our pupils• attendance at full governing body and committee meetings, setting agendas and agreement of minutes• setting, reviewing and ratifying statutory policies• reviewing staffing levels and training, attending interviews and selection panels• promoting and representing the School to our pupils, parents and the local communityResponsibilities:• Vice-Chair of Governors (2011 - 2015, 2017)• Chair of the Personnel Committee (2009 - 2017)• Chair of the Pay Committee (2014 - 2017)• Member of the Headteacher's Performance Review Panel (2010 - 2012 & 2014 - 2018)• Link Governor, responsible for training and development of other governors (2009 - 2013)Work closely with the Chair of Governors and the Headteacher to continually evaluate and improve teaching and learning in the school.
