Using the Olympic & Amateur Sports Act as a basis for our proposal, we came up with a third entity, the Collegiate Revenue Distribution Center (CRDC). The purpose of the CRDC is to help restore competitive balance by enhancing transparency and increasing equity between all Division I institutions. Using major conference media revenue, Bowl Championship Series media revenue and NCAA Men's Basketball distribution fund revenue, distribution is based on three incentives: academic progress, sponsorship of sport and competition performance. Each incentive allows all Division I institutions the possibility of earning more revenue which leads to greater access to resources, something many institutions currently struggle with. We presented our proposal at the University of Michigan and took first place in the competition. Our proposal was then published in Winthrop's Newsletter for many to see. Show less
