Leadership position overseeing two multi-disciplinary departments, requiring expertise and competence in the fundamental skillsets of each department in addition to the managerial skills necessary to cultivate a high-performing team. I lead projects and deploy skills related to quality improvement and control, compliance, curriculum development, education delivery, e-learning development. The Manager of Quality and Clinical Development for North Memorial Ambulance Services has the privilege of affecting a variety of outcomes both inside and outside of their departments. Therefore, there are many critical decisions made routinely that must take into consideration the consequences for team member experience, resource allocation across the division, budget constraints and effects, governmental and accrediting agency compliance, long term business strategy, and patient outcomes. These considerations put the manager of quality and clinical development in close partnerships with other ambulance services leaders and leaders throughout the organization. Show less Tasked with sharing the high-quality care, progressive medicine, and customer service mindset of North Memorial Health Ambulance and Aircare with our partners and colleagues in the Midwest. Relationships are the foundation for all collaborations. North Memorial Ambulance and Aircare strives to provide a diversity of value for our partners. In EMS, we tend to sink or swim together. At North, we aim to rise the tide, lifting all boats, not just our own. This position required that I travel throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin to speak with hospital partners/customers and public safety agencies about North Memorial Ambulance and Aircare's performance. I did field complaints or concerns and provided either context or follow-up to reporting parties. Part relationship maintenance and part business development, this position required that seek out potential sources of ambulance and aircare transport volume, sharing North Memorial's philosophies, capabilities, and successes to encourage customers to think of us as an option. I found myself speaking with police chiefs, fire chiefs, city administrators, mayors, hospital administrators, the general public, and everything in between. It was an incredible opportunity to speak with others about North Memorial and to education about ambulance services and air medical transport. My skills in communication, my understanding of governmental services and process, and my ability to develop and focus on marketing strategies substantially improved over the short time that I was in this role.Although this wasn't a sales job, I did study conceptual sales techniques, which was an appropriate approach given the unique motivators and considerations for use of preferred medical transport services. Show less Leadership position in a high-paced, high performance ambulance service in the Twin Cities. I was expected to independently maintain day to day functions of a busy system that involved several layers of services, including emergency 911 service, ALS and BLS interfacility transport, critical care interfacility transport, and special transportation services. In addition to daily duties, I also held responsibility for the education, management, coordination, and leadership of our critical care team during my time in this role, which saw the critical care program grow during our transition from a nurse/medic model to a medic/medic model. During the COVID pandemic, I provided consultation for other leaders and critical care team members on how to overcome unique and challenging critical care transport situations. Show less
