Show less TuksVillage is a dual gender residence for students at the University of Pretoria, a first of its kind. As head of residence, my wife and I are responsible for the welfare, care and support to the 640 students residing on a annual basis in TuksVillage, which falls under the department of TuksRes. Through close working, interaction and guidance of the 24 RMC (residence management committee) members the values and objectives of a uniquely African residence can be loved out on a daily basis. Show less Oversight of all aspects within TuksSport related to - coaching incl. coaches management & coaches education, - performance management & coordination of sport science and medical services, - student-athlete management, - emergency services, - sport bursaries / scholarships, - individual specialized club management and - relationships with academic departments, faculties, HOD's and Deans.Part of my responsibilities include being part of the TuksSport Senior Management which includes the Director of Sport, 2 colleague Deputy Directors and myself. The Senior management, along with the Heads of Programs for each of our priority sporting codes forms part of the MANCO of TuksSport. Play a role and am a member of the University of Pretoria's wellness Advisory committee, overseeing and advising on the wellness activities for the 4000+ staff. Show less Head of Program for TuksAquatics and included TuksSwimming, TuksTriathlon, TuksWaterpolo, TuksLifesaving and TuksUnderwater Hockey clubs.Included the management, administrative support, financial management and sustainability, fundraising, the overall long term athlete development pipeline and overall direction of the programmes. Staff management included oversight of coaches, administrators, club committees, officials, volunteers and parents. I also coached my own squad of athletes which included South African and African swimmers representing their countries. These swimmers represented TuksSwimming at local meets, national competitions and on the international area at events such as the Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, All Africa Games, Youth Olympics and World Championships. Show less Over the course of a number of years I have been involved in swimming coaching. This included coaching in an ad hoc capacity with TuksSwimming, through to where I had my own full time squad of athletes since August 2007 through to September 2012. Currently I don't coach any squad due to my current role and work commitments. Over the span of my coaching I have coached swimmers from from a technical tactical capacity through their dry land work which included both injury prevention and injury rehabilitation. I was fortunate to have worked and coached swimmers across the entire long term athlete development pipeline. My swimmers represented TuksSwimming and their countries at many meets and included local provincial competitions, national age group, senior Nationals, youth nationals and internationally. Part of my coaching included also swimmers from various African countries whom represented their countries at Olympic Games, World Championships, All Africa Games, Commonwealth Games, Youth Olympics, World Short Course and world juniors.   The ASPC (Association for Sport Performance Centres) is a global organisation comprising of more than 100 members, all who are elite training centres and facilities round the world across the various continents. These centers form key facilities and environments for elite sport performance within the various countries, and cities globally. At these centers many of these countries elite Olympic and Paralympic athletes, and professional teams find themselves a home and environment conducive to elite High Performance endeavors.
