Jan 2014 - May 2022Founding PastorBy God’s grace, I planted a thriving-community of Christ-followers. My contributions to this effort included creating our mission, vision, and core-values as well as raising the funds required to start the work. As the Lead Pastor, my role was often to do what needed to be done, independent from what might be on a “typical” job description.- Experienced little staff turnover, gained over $1,000,000 of annual finances to steward, had two separate land/building acquisitions, and was able to give 12% of all our internal offerings towards ministry partners. My responsibly was also to receive, assess, and manage the P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cashflow reports.- Lead the way with strong team building efforts, vision casting, wise resource allocation, system development, building an equipping process, clear communication, and catalyzing our mission.- Grew the Church from 16 regular attendees to over 500 in five years.- Lead and served as a "GC" various projects such as building expansion, primary responsibility for financial reports, stewarding cash flow, creating sustainable compensation packages, negotiating prices and services, staff recruitment and development, community engagement, and primary responsibility of the preaching/teaching. Aug 2016 - Jan 2024Real State InvestorSeeing an opportunity, I analyzed the real estate market as well as the individual deals available. Once the right deals were identified, I created a prudent strategy for acquiring them. Upon closings, I ran crews to complete large-scale repairs on deadline and within budget. As this work was underway, I had marketed and secured tenants to lease out the single-family homes. This venture gave me further experience and helped refine my abilities to see potential where there was currently disintegration. Further, it allowed me to hone the ability to draw out the potential through thorough assessment, organization, proper systems, and through the efforts of others. On a whole, much progress and growth comes from an assessment of challenges, the available resources (energy, skills, capital, etc.), and then structuring a plan to achieve goals through leveraging resources in a sustainable way. - Led a commercial building expansion project, which included running point on external and internal design, contractors, timeline, budget, and building to code. - Anticipating the market shift, I sold all single-family homes for a significant profit and used the funds to re-invest into syndicated apartment complex opportunities.- Gained experience in partnering with contractors, maintaining equitable relationships with tenants, and drawing out the potential of poorly maintained homes by seeing what could be, not just what it is.
