I called it A Choice of Heaven. I don't often enter my songs in competitions. Once I write them, they have ususally served their purpose of getting my thoughts and feelings on paper. Most of the songs I write are about my own experiences or some mildly political issues that bug me! A Choice of Heaven: So many places to goSo many people to meetTake a wide open roadOr a blocked city streetThe blue of the mountainsThe dust of the plainsBut my choice of heavenIs to come here again. There's so many forces pulling at meI'm so indecisive, where should I beBut I still have my choices, my freedom remainsAnd as long as I'm free, I can't complain.I work when I have to or just sit in the sunI sleep when I need to, I walk or I runThere's no-one to stop me, it's my basic rightFly on freedom's wings through the length of the nightSo many places to goSo many people to meetTake a wide open roadOr a blocked city streetThe blue of the mountainsThe dust of the plainsBut my choice of heavenIs to come here again. The stoic iron curtain kept the people in chainsThe risks of escaping made the dangers too greatBut even the great wall can be overthrownFor the will of the people outweighs any stone. There's so much we have that we don't utiliseAnd it's taken me forever to just realiseThat it's layed out before us to use or discardSo why is the choice so hard, when there's Places to goSo many people to meetTake a wide open roadOr a blocked city streetThe blue of the mountainsThe dust of the plainsBut my choice of heavenIs to come here again.
