  Mitchell is a Graduate Engineer works in the Water Infrastructure and Materials Technology field at SMEC. Mitchell demonstrates skills and experience that he has gained through out his time as an engineer, these skills include water infrastructure design and structural condition assessment of various structures including reservoirs, wastewater treatment plants, sewer networks, drainage facilities and retaining walls. This experience has enhanced my understanding of deterioration mechanisms forconcrete and steel structures, and has given me experience in rehabilitation design.Some of the projects that Mitchell has worked on include the Enhanced Condition Assessment Program (ECAP) were Mitchell is an inspection engineer responsible for undertaking condition assessment inspections of water and wastewater infrastructure as part of SMEC’s role in the QUU Enhanced Condition Assessment Program (ECAP). This program is designed to undertake strategic condition assessment of assets and development of rehabilitation activities across QUU’s water supply and sewerage networks, facilities and sewage treatment plants (STPs). The extent of inspections is complete in a staged approach from preliminary, secondary, detailed and construction phase, with each subsequence stage triggered by the outcome of the previous inspection. Remaining life analysis, detailed design and technical support/inspection during construction phase are completed for assets which are rehabilitated. Show less

  Mitchell has extensively worked for the past seven years in all areas of the civil construction industry in both the public and private sectors. Although having worked primarily in the Defence sector, Mitchell has delivered multiple major Defence projects across North Queensland and the Northern Territory. Mitchell started his career as a Design Engineer at an International engineering firm. Working at such a high-profile firm allowed him exposure to a broad range of design aspects and experienced mentors. He formed a comprehensive understanding of the intricacy of designs and the delivery during the construction phase. This understanding has been instrumental in his application of design when he later transitioned into construction engineering.Mitchell is an Experienced Civil Engineer with a demonstrated history of working in various industries, including water infrastructure, roads, utilities, and civil construction. He has strong program and contract management skills coupled with a key focus on strategic and commercial awareness. Mitchell’s practical consideration to delivery makes him a well balanced and delivery focused individual and with a collaborative approach promotes and encourages project teams to deliver best for project outcomes.
