      For two summers and one winter I coached children, ages 4 to 18, how to swim and improve their strokes. I helped create meet sheets every week and taught kids how to swim competitively and exist within a team.

      Research Fellow

      I analyzed, catalogued, and researched artifacts excavated at the Home of Franklin D. Roosevelt National Historic Site in Hyde Park, NY and assisted in the excavation of a bottle dump at the Woods Site. In addition to my research and lab tasks, I also drafted pieces of the archaeological report to the National Park Service.

      Sept 2017 - May 2020

      I conducted and supervised lab work in the Historical Archaeology Lab for an archaeology project at the Home of FDR Historic Site conducted under a cooperative agreement between the National Park Service and Vassar College. I washed, bagged, researched, and cataloged 19th and 20th century artifacts to inform the analysis of the site and project decisions. In addition to my work, I also supervised and assigned the work of others in the lab. I did lab work for archaeological excavations of dump sites at the Home of FDR National Historic Site. I cataloged, examined, and researched artifacts in support of the completion of a draft report to the National Park Service. In addition to my individual work, I also supervised volunteers working in the lab.

      Historical Summer Fellow

      I participated in the Historic Deerfield Summer Fellowship Program which is an intensive exploration into historical and material culture studies focused in early American history. I conducted my own research on the social history of house moving in Deerfield, culminating in a significant research paper and public presentation. In addition, as part of the program, I learned how to guide and interpret in 18th and 19th century house museums and was introduced to numerous other museums and historical sites. Show less

      I facilitate the growth and maintenance of the digital humanities projects at CT Humanities including ConnecticutHistory.org and Teach It. My responsibilities include connecting with historians/writers/educators, soliciting articles, editing content, and monitoring the websites through WordPress. I also manage our projects' external communications and our current project reviewing and updating 10+ year old historical content. Through these actions, I continually pursue a diverse, multifaceted, and broad telling of Connecticut history. Show less
